Every task you can quote from lives here, sorted by trade: the ready-made ones from FlatRateNOW, and your own under My Catalogue.

1. Open a draft quote.
2. Tap the blue + button at the bottom right of the screen. The same button is in the Actions menu too, but the floating one saves you a tap.
3. Pick a category along the top, or search for the task by name.

Why the labour times look long Each ready-made task allows for the full time the job takes your business, set-up included, not just time on the tools. The figures are averaged from years of real completed jobs, so expect them to run longer than you would normally allow. That is on purpose. It is the time that usually goes unpriced.

Quoting more than one task Every task carries its own set-up time, so several tasks on one quote will count set-up more than once. When you are doing them all in the same visit, add something like a 10% onsite discount. Depending on your configuration that comes off the time or off the price. Either way the customer gets a real saving and the quote comes back in line with doing the work in one go.

What is in the catalogue out of the box:

Standard task templates come in two kinds: a set price, or a list of products where the price appears once one is picked. Switch between them below.

For work that changes depending on how it is done. Matrix task templates, also called multi-layered tasks, have you pick the approach first and the details second.

Grouping. The first layer is how the job is being done, for example Install or Replace. Each group carries its own labour time, so choosing Replace gives you a different time to choosing Install.

Configurable options. Inside each group sit the options, and each one behaves like a standard task template: either a set price, or a list of products where the price appears once you pick one.

For the job the catalogue does not have a ready-made task for. The custom task, task code TSK0001, lets you write the line yourself.

It is not only for pricing work. Use it for notes, reporting, FYIs and exclusions as well. The title is the only field you have to fill in, so labour and materials can be left blank.

Worth knowing Your customer only sees the final price on a custom task, never the labour and materials behind it. And for now custom tasks are one-time use. They are not saved, so each one is written fresh on the quote it belongs to.

Editing only changes this quote When you reword a title or description, the task template in the catalogue stays exactly as it was. Next time you add that task, it starts from the original again.

When the job in front of you is not the standard one, override the price from inside the task.

1. Open the task.
2. Tap the price at the bottom right.
3. Choose a pricing tier, Custom, or Complimentary.
4. Tap Continue to save the change.
5. Tap the green button at the bottom right to go back to your quote.

Only changes this quote The catalogue price stays as it is. And if the same task is on the quote twice, each one can be priced on its own.

Draft quotes only Prices can only be changed while the quote is still a draft. Once it has moved on, the price is set.

Any task can be set up to suggest others that go with it, usually the ones most often offered alongside it. Handy for the add-ons that are easy to forget on site.

Keep the work you quote most often close to hand. A favourite task appears in the Favourites section of the catalogue, and a favourite product moves to the top of its list.

1. Find the task.
2. Tap the star in its top right corner.
3. Tap the star again to remove it from your favourites.
4. Products work the same way. Tap the star on a product and it jumps to the top of the list.

Favourites are shared Everyone in your business sees the same favourites, so a star one person adds shows up for the whole team. Worth agreeing between you what earns a place in there.
